Felipe Romero Beltrán, born in 1992 in Bogotá, is a Colombian photographer currently based in Paris, France. His artistic endeavors are deeply rooted in exploring social issues, with a particular focus on the tension that arises from the introduction of new narratives within the realm of documentary photography. Beltrán's practice is characterized by its commitment to long-term projects, accompanied by meticulous research that enriches the depth and context of his work.

Beltrán pursued his academic journey with an interest for photography, culminating in a Ph.D. in Photography from the Complutense University of Madrid. His academic pursuits not only reflect his commitment to the craft but also serve as a foundation for the conceptual approach that permeates his photographic projects.

Among his academic path, Beltrán's series Dialect stood out as the winner of the 2023 Foam Paul Huf Award, showcasing the series at FOAM Museum Amsterdam, the artist’s first institutional presentation. In recognition of his contributions to the field, he was also honored with the 2022 Aperture Portfolio Prize. Dialect series was published as a book in 2023 by LooseJoints Publishing.

Beltrán's work has been widely recognized and exhibited on both national and international platforms. His participation in events such as the ARCO Madrid Art Fair in 2024, the ParisPhoto Curiosa Section in 2023, and the Biennale für aktuelle fotografie in 2022 attests to the global approach of his artistic vision. Furthermore, the acquisition of his artwork by the Kadist Art Foundation in Paris in 2022 highlights the institutional recognition and support for Beltrán's compelling and socially resonant photographic projects. His list of accolades extends to awards such as the Kbr PhotoAward in Madrid, the GetxoPhoto Award in 2020, and the Madrid Photobook Prize in the same year.
